The Trail Blazers 2009 Fan Fest went down this past Sunday and things are looking good for the up coming season. The Blazers have added Juwan Howard and Andre Miller, along with rookie Dante Cunningham, who all seem like they will make solid contributions.
The story of the night and the upcoming season was all of the position battles. With LaMarcus and Brandon locked in, and it looking more and more likely that Oden has the starting center position won, Nate McMillan has to choose his small forward and point guard. All signs point to Blake getting the starting job and Andre Miller will close out games for Portland. The real tough call will be whether to start Nicolas Batum or Martell Webster. Word on the street is that Batum has much improved his offensive game, and Martell is finally back to 100 percent. Both guys looked good on Sunday. Here are a few highlights from the intersquad scrimmage.
