ESPN is losing credibility as an objective news source by the day. Sure, they’ve been bleeding credibility for most of the last decade, but now it’s a full-on hemorrhage, for crying out loud. They might as well just put LeBron on the payroll and hire Maverick Carter to do all of their publicity, because that’s essentially what “The Decision” and this latest little dust-up have accomplished.

sbnation:

This has bullshit written all over it. Apparently ESPN doesn’t realize that once you post something to the Internet, there is no turning back. They can’t kill the story, it’s already out there.

This just goes to further prove that ESPN is taking orders from Lebron’s camp, which we already knew after “The Decision” aired. While their “30 for 30” series is incredible, they’ve crossed the line from journalism to public relations hacks. Some would say they did that a long time ago, and this is just the latest and most glaring example.

Nice to see that, on a network that has been flat-out destroying Leach without all the facts, there is still someone at ESPN with enough integrity and cojones to say, “look, I don’t know all of the facts and don’t forget that there are two sides to this story”.

Good on ya, Matich!

It’s been a long summer and we’ve all gotten a bit punchy waiting for college football to start. But kickoff time is finally here.

South Carolina is engaged in a yawn-fest with NC State, setting us up the technicolor yawn that will be Oregon/Boise State (seriously, the Ducks unis on the Smurf Turf? Anyone have a black and white TV I can purchase before 7:22PM PST?).

I already know that I have to mute the TV every time ESPN comes back from a commercial with that god-awful inbred country band blaring away over highlights. Sweet christ, paired with Dave Matthews Band, it’s making me wonder if the Worldwide Leader has lost their entire music library over the summer.
