Quite the takedown of LeBron. I think it’s very deserved. The guy is obviously an insane talent. To be that big yet that quick, that powerful yet that nimble and that dominant yet that deferent is a combination that comes along once in a lifetime. Wilt Chamberlain was that kind of athlete. Walter Peyton was that kind of athlete. Jim Thorpe was that kind of athlete.
But they all had something that LeBron doesn’t seem to have. They all had that unending desire to win at all costs. I am continually disappointed that LeBron doesn’t have that same fire and I’m glad that people are starting to call him out on it.
Having success off the court is fine and dandy, but we are interested in LeBron because he’s an amazing basketball player, not because he’s a businessman.
Just go out there and play, LeBron. There is plenty of time to conquer the world of business after you’re done on the court.
Shitty, shitty news for fans of the NBA who were hoping (like me) for a Cavs/Lakers Finals. If LeBron is as hurt as this “report” makes it sound, there is no way that they can get past the creaky Celts and the Magic/Hawks in the next round.
On a side note: I’ve had bone bruises on my elbow and my wrist and I can say from experience that it hurts much more than it sounds like it should. Grasping objects and holding on to them can be very difficult and making sharp movements or repetitive movements really hurts. That might explain why you saw LeBron dribbling left-handed much more than usual in Game 2. Bone bruises don’t go away quickly, either.
The Trail Blazers 2009 Fan Fest went down this past Sunday and things are looking good for the up coming season. The Blazers have added Juwan Howard and Andre Miller, along with rookie Dante Cunningham, who all seem like they will make solid contributions.
The story of the night and the upcoming season was all of the position battles. With LaMarcus and Brandon locked in, and it looking more and more likely that Oden has the starting center position won, Nate McMillan has to choose his small forward and point guard. All signs point to Blake getting the starting job and Andre Miller will close out games for Portland. The real tough call will be whether to start Nicolas Batum or Martell Webster. Word on the street is that Batum has much improved his offensive game, and Martell is finally back to 100 percent. Both guys looked good on Sunday. Here are a few highlights from the intersquad scrimmage.
