ESPN Officially Kills Lebron James Vegas Story,... →
ESPN is losing credibility as an objective news source by the day. Sure, they’ve been bleeding credibility for most of the last decade, but now it’s a full-on hemorrhage, for crying out loud. They might as well just put LeBron on the payroll and hire Maverick Carter to do all of their publicity, because that’s essentially what “The Decision” and this latest little...

Fixing Football
In the wake of the spectacle that is the World Cup, new revelations about brain injuries from concussions, the revelation that over the course of a 3-hour game, only 11 minutes of actual action take place and studies that show that some helmets are, at best, inadequate, American football could use a little facelift. Players are bigger, stronger and faster than they have ever been. Concussions are...

Fourth And Blog 2010 College Football Preview
We’re closing in on my favorite time of the year- college football season. The fact that it happens to coincide with my favorite season- fall, makes it a glorious world of bemusement and wonder for me. Every September, I know that I can look forward to the crisp autumn air and the spectacle and pageantry of college football. It’s like my Christmas, Halloween, Easter and Birthday all...

LeBron’s moment of truth awaits - NBA - Yahoo!... →
Quite the takedown of LeBron. I think it’s very deserved. The guy is obviously an insane talent. To be that big yet that quick, that powerful yet that nimble and that dominant yet that deferent is a combination that comes along once in a lifetime. Wilt Chamberlain was that kind of athlete. Walter Peyton was that kind of athlete. Jim Thorpe was that kind of athlete. But they all had...

Ball in Europe: LeBron’s injury *way* worse than... →
Shitty, shitty news for fans of the NBA who were hoping (like me) for a Cavs/Lakers Finals. If LeBron is as hurt as this “report” makes it sound, there is no way that they can get past the creaky Celts and the Magic/Hawks in the next round. On a side note: I’ve had bone bruises on my elbow and my wrist and I can say from experience that it hurts much more than it sounds like it...

It’s not often that a sports team shows more backbone than a state government, but when they do, it’s pretty awesome. Good on ya, Phoenix Suns ownership!

Okay, that was an egregious foul call on Rondo. When the foulee grabs face/sneakily looks up to see if official sees it, that’s bad.

That ball was last touched by the Cavs. This is getting silly. But, what do you expect, it’s Dick Bavetta.

Love the use of replay in college hoops. Doesn’t take long, isn’t intrusive but adds crucial layer of due diligence. /via @richeisen agreed.

Butler is playing with more passion. Duke is playing with more talent. Hayward is going to have to step up here for Butler to stay in it.
